Another ATM skimmer found in Meridian at Pioneer Federal Credit Union
MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) — Well, it's been confirmed. Another ATM card skimmer has been found in the Treasure Valley.
The Meridian Police Department is warning people of one that was found at the Pioneer Federal Credit Union this week. The first one was found at the Bank of Cascades in Nampa on Tuesday.
Meridian Police say the customers affected used the drive-thru ATM at 850 E. Fairview Ave. on Dec. 10 between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Customers found fraudulent charges on their accounts in Nevada, Arizona and California. Police were able to get photos from PFCU of two men who might be involved.
If you have any information in this incident please contact Meridian PD at (208) 888-6678.
The BBB reported in April that card skimmers have been on the rise.
There are multiple ways you can protect yourself from becoming a victim of card skimmers by using a chip reader, being aware of your surroundings, monitor your bank statements, and more.
